The Nixon 51-30 Chrono is technically not 100% waterproof. But that doesn't mean it can't be worn in the water! It has a water resistance rating of 300 meters / 30 ATM, meaning it is pressure tested to 300 meters. If you choose a leather band when building your custom 51-30 Chrono watch, we recommend avoiding water so that the leather strap does not get damaged.
The key features of the 51-30 Chrono include a 51mm custom solid stainless steel case with a 9 o'clock crown and pushers, a unidirectional rotating bezel for an analog countdown timer, and a Miyota Japanese quartz 6-hand chronograph movement with date and timer functions. It also features a hardened mineral crystal, 300 meters of water resistance, and a stainless steel construction making it dive-ready.
The crown on the Nixon 51-30 Chrono is located at the 9 o'clock position to prevent wrist bite when worn on the left hand, providing greater comfort during active use. This design choice allows the watch to be worn without the crown digging into the wrist, which is great if you're getting your hands dirty.
