Los Angeles based artist Steven Harrington says that his bold, cartoonish style encourages a two-way conversation between artist and viewer. Cited as the leader of the contemporary Californian psychedelic-pop aesthetic, Harrington’s work is inspired by California’s mystique and diversity of both landscape and cultures. His acclaimed body of work reflects a multimedia approach, with large-scale installations of plaster and stone, hand screened prints, limited-edition books.

In Nixon’s second collaboration with Harrington, he brings his inspired kaleidoscope aesthetic to a partnership with Disney to create two limited-edition Mickey Mouse watches. The Mickey Mouse watch is an historic design that was one of the first pieces of merchandising for Disney way back in 1933. Since then there have been many takes on the timepiece and it only seemed right that such an iconic, colorful artist have a turn

This special limited-edition collection is the latest development in Nixon’s part in the worldwide campaign: “Mickey the True Original,” to celebrate the birthday of legendary icon Mickey Mouse. These two custom watches showing Mickey Mouse as seen through the playful artist’s eye, have been crafted on a limited run of only 100 of each of the two models. They are also numbered on the caseback, making them true collector’s items.
